Academic exchange activities with Ritsumeikan University, Japan and Hong Kong Shue Yan University in 2020

Exchange period: from 27th July, 2020 to 11th August, 2020 with Ritsumeikan University

Every July, we conduct and overseas internship and international exchange program at our sister university in Japan (Ritsumeikan University), where we have signed a MOU. In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, this year we have switched to an online exchange mode. Both parties used the online Zoom meeting to make plans for teacher workshops and student team report forums as well as university department topic discussions.

 

  1. Teacher workshops: 

  1. 27th July to 29July, 09:00 am- 12:00pm, ACT Workshop by Professor Shinji Tani, Ritsumeikan University, Japan
  2. 27th July to 28July, 01:00 pm- 04:00pm, Art Therapy by Professor Yuanhong Ji, Ritsumeikan University, Japan
  3. 31st July, 02:00 pm- 05:00pm, Introductory of LGBT Counseling in Taiwan by Assistance Professor Hung Chiao, National Taipei University of Education, Taiwan

 

  1. Student team report forums:

From August 3rd to 7th, between 5pmand 6pm each day, five thematic forums were held for graduate students from the three universities. Each group had 1 or 2 students from each of the three universities signed up to participate in the group discussion and presentation and 4 graduate students from our university participated. The topics are as below: 

  1. Mental care of the elderly in China, Japan and Taiwan. By 黃祺婷
  2. Influence of length of stay and home on intimate relationship during Covid-19.
  3. A study on differences of sexual concepts between China, Japan and Taiwan. By 李昀
  4. The difference of competency model of psychological counselors between Chinese, Japanese and Taiwanese. By陳婉容
  5. The difference of psychological crisis intervention system between China, Japan and Taiwan. By邱

 

  1. University department topic discussions:

  1. The differences in food between Taiwan and Japan were discussed and reported on by the Japanese group and Taiwan group A.
  2. The differences in psychological counseling were discussed and reported on by Taiwan group B only.

 

Exchange period: From 22nd October, 2020 to 18th November, 2020 with HKSYU

The Department of Counselling and Psychology of Hong Kong Shue Yan University (HKSYU) invited our department to conduct an academic exchange in the spring, but due to the epidemic, we conducted an online course exchange in the fall.
