Our Visions

Our mission and goals are to empower the students with a basic knowledge of psychology and counseling skills, as well as the ability to assess, research and develop. We provide students with a solid foundation of psychological knowledge and counseling skills, as well as the ability to apply their professional knowledge and skills in schools, communities, counseling clinics, education or mental health-related industries. We also foster students’ ability to explore individual psychological experiences through knowledge of psychology and research methods. Specifically, through the curriculum planning of ‘Research Methods’, ‘Knowledge of Psychology’, ‘Psychotherapy Theory’ and ‘Application of Issues and Objects’, we aim to achieve the following goals. 

1. To train competent counseling professionals to serve in school counseling center and community organizations

Our curriculum and training can train counseling professionals to provide services in all levels of schools, communities, clinics, and mental health related organizations to provide education, counseling, mental health promotions and outreach, and psychological counseling services. We provide services to support individuals or groups at different stages of development to deal with psychological problems with adaptation to life, promoting psychological growth and improving quality of life. 

2. To train competent counseling professional to provide services in various institutions

Our curriculum planning and training, aligned with our education curriculum, prepare students with knowledge about teaching methods, textbook selection, learning assessment, and the diagnosis and counseling of learning difficulties. These skills will prepare students to become excellent on-site teachers. By extension, talents with the abilities to assess, analyze, design and develop educational training are needed by various organizations, such as foundations related to students development, institutions promoting community education, textbooks and educational magazines publishers, and other organizations. 

3. To train research experts in the fields of psychotherapy and school counseling 

Our curriculum and training aim to develop students’ abilities to read and understand academic papers, to think critically, to analyze, to communicate with others and to express themselves properly. In other words, we provide students with the means to acquire and to present the knowledge they have received. Based on the ability to research, students will be able to investigate topics such as individual psychological phenomena, issues related to life and psychological adjustment, counseling interventions and effectiveness, and the development and intervention of mental health program…etc., and apply their findings to various practical tasks.
